Dr. Axelrod has been in practice for over 30 years as a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist. She worked in an integrative rheumatology practice for 18 years. She is a published author, both nationally and internationally, on topics including osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and treating autoimmunity with natural medicine. She also lectures nationally on these topics.

Dr. Axelrod has been a professor at Sonoran University of Health Sciences, formerly Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, for over 25 years. She has been an adjunct faculty at AT Stills University in the Physician Assistant program. She was previously a staff member for Maricopa Integrative Health System.

She treats a wide variety of conditions including pain, autoimmune conditions, arthritis, digestive conditions, thyroid issues, fatigue, weight loss and much more. Some of the therapies she incorporates include nutrition, food allergy testing, botanicals, homeopathy, Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture and craniosacral therapy. 

Travel and medicine are two of her favorite activities, which has included providing care for those in need across borders, such as in Haiti, Cambodia and Mexico. Outside of her practice, she enjoys ceramics, yoga, hiking and cycling.
